This easy to use filling cream is ideal for masking and filling sponge cakes. A delicate vanilla flavour, it can be used straight from the pack. It also takes colours and flavours well so can be adapted to personal taste.
Sweet Success filling cream is much smoother than homemade buttercream, without that 'gritty' sugary texture, and as it is much whiter in colour than traditional home-made buttercream you will find it much easier to colour, if desired.
1kg of filling cream should easily cover and fill a 12" cake, or 2 x 8" cakes - depending on how thickly you spread the filling cream , you may have some left over. Be careful not to put too thick a layer in the middle of your cake, else it may bulge! Use a very thin layer of the cream to coat the outside of the cake before covering with roll out sugarpaste - this will stick the sugarpaste firmly to the cake base.
Sweet Success filling cream should keep well in the fridge for at least 10 weeks, and also freezes very well for up to 9 months.
