Death by Chocolate Cake ; a very moist, deliciously dark and rich cake ideal for decadent chocolate wedding cakes.
Our
Death By Chocolate Cake bases are moister, darker, and even more chocolatey than our normal chocolate genoese sponge. Ideal for luxury chocolate wedding and celebration cakes, it will keep in good condition for at least five weeks. It also freezes and defrosts very well, with some customers preferring to work on the bases semi-frozen, particularly when sculpting three dimensional novelty cakes. Supplied in cut squares or rectangular slabs, our Death By Chocolate cake is easy to cut to any shape, especially if a cake board or similar is used as a template.
Each cake is individually wrapped and packed in sturdy boxes to protect it during its journey to you. Just remove the baking parchment from the base of each layer, and your sponge is ready to decorate. Each cake comes with two layers in the box, both 1.25” deep - most customers use the two layers sandwiched with buttercream or whipped ganache to make one standard depth celebration cake.
